In a recent talk by me on a similar topic at NYP, Singapore, which was attended by as many as 150 diversified audience, including faculty members, scholars and students from technology, education and animation arenas, the take aways were many. The faculty from Education could relate to the power of AR/VR and numerous opportunities that exist. They could realize that the landscape of education and Ed-Tech is all set to change and the sooner they adapt to such changes the better it is. The Technology audience could get an overview of the multifaceted problems the AR/VR space of research faces and that there is something for everybody to explore. The developers from the school of animation and gaming could appreciate the workflow of design for Ed tech areas in AR/VR spaces. How the actors and activities change and so would their importance when developing games for learning. What is the thin line between simulations, immersive, virtual and augmented experiences and how the learning gain of the user can vary from application to application.

Surgical Strikes - Unity3D for Immersive Troop Training

This talk covers how detailed troop simulation exercise was carried out for Indian Army Design Bureau by Threye Inc. The end objective was to give a soldier complete exposure to a terrain he has never set foot into. The exercise involved mapping a 50 Acre area using Drones to capture depth data and photogrammetry resulting in terrain data that was 30times more detailed that Google Earth. Subsequently, the terrain data was loaded in Unity3D, and ported for Virtual Reality. The exercise was put to test by the Army, and showcased in SemSim - Seminar on Simulation, organised by CII and Army Design Bureau as use case for LVC: Live-virtual-constructive training, which will combine live operations, with virtual entities via use of AR/VR and XR techniques.
The underlying technology and toolset is now being jointly explored by the Army, Air Force and Navy, for immersive troop simulation and training, including joint/networked combat mock exercises prior to setting foot in a real area.

Building the Decentralized, Gaze-Based Metaverse Economy: Currency, Contracts and Virtual World Proliferation with the Gaze Coin Blockchain

In this talk, Gaze Coin founder/CEO Jonny Peters explores blockchain currency and contracts as a function of building, monetizing and networking the metaverse. • Advertisers are incentivized to place ads/branded content by growing user reach/engagement,
• Content owners are incentivized to provide quality content by advertiser patronage and growing user reach/engagement,
• Users are incentivized by content owner rewards and quality content, resulting in larger reach and engagement that advertiser wants.

Currency is one of the fundamental unifiers of human culture in the real world and, founded on blockchain, will remain a constant in the virtual worlds of the future.
